Leafair Pavilion

recreation, sport and leisure

Back in 2007…
Core Objectives

Address the under utilisation of existing neighbourhood sports / play
facilities in the Galliagh and surrounding area.

Reduce levels of vandalism of the pitches due to quads, bikes, cars, anti
social behaviour.

Encourage community ownership of the facilities and increase the
community/neighbourhood use of the facility all year round.

Implement active ongoing management of the facilities thus ensuring
the viability of the Leafair site.

Develop a sustainable and viable community leisure/sporting/ recreation
facility.

Improve the health and lifestyles of people in the local community and
build a strong community spirit.

Help to accommodate the current and future needs of local residents /
groups, and potential visitors who are / will utilise the sport and play
facilities at Leafair

127/128 agreed with the need to
redevelop and modernise the facility
Between 123 to 126 individuals agreed
with all the proposals (over 96%)
