• Anyone who is interested in being part of the
Katy Perry “Roar” lip dub, please see
Stephanie Franciscus, Allie Pietrusinski or Ms.
Coleman.
• We wil film on Saturday.
• Attention, Seniors and Juniors
• You will NOT be admitted to a college visit
without a signed pass. If you registered on
Naviance and did not get a pass, please come
to the Guidance Office asap. You will not be
admitted to any college visit without a pass
signed by your teacher.
• The first MAPS meeting will be held on
Tuesday, Sept 24th, directly after school, in
the study area.
• New members received their invitations in
homeroom today.
• The meeting will take approximately a half
hour and please bring any and all service ideas
and opportunities.
• Reminder for Maria Goretti Members to meet after school
at the Welcome desk at 2:45pm.
• Those who signed up for Wednesday will begin September
25.
• Those who signed up for Thursday will begin September 26.
• Those who signed up for Monday will begin September 30.

• This coming Thursday, September 19th, there
will be an important informational meeting in
the Lecture Hall for all those who want to
volunteer for INSPIRE.
• The meeting will begin at 3:00.
Students interested in joining the
Anatomy Club
this year should come to the first meeting on
Thursday, September 26th
after school from 2:35 until 3:30
in the Dinardo Lecture Hall.
See Ms. Mosley if you are unable to attend.
• Latin Club will meet this Thursday, September
19 after school in room 213.
• You do not have to be taking Latin to join.
• For more information see either Ms. Day or
Abby Annear.
• Forte will be meeting this Thursday,
September 19th from 2:45 to 3:30 in Room
208. If you cannot attend you must check in or
email [email protected].

Chinese Club
• Chinese club will be having its first meeting on
Thursday, September 19 in Room G15.
• Come and learn about and celebrate the Moon Festival
with your peers and try yummy moon cakes.
• Free food is always a good reason to come to a
meeting.
• Thee meeting will be held until 3:00
• We will share ideas and discuss possibilities for future
events.
• Anyone can join; there is no need to know how to
speak Chinese!

responsibilities, community service, and a

Attention Basketball Team
• Open Gym scheduled on Wednesday 9/18 and
Track Workout scheduled on Thursday, 9/19
have been canceled this week.
• Congratulations to Victoria Albacete and
Maria Navarro!
• They have been selected as 2013-2014
National Hispanic Scholars.
• This is an important academic achievement as
this award is based on their PSAT scores and
their cumulative GPA.
The 47th Annual Duquesne University College Fair
will be held at the
A.J. Palumbo Center
on Sunday, October 13th from 1PM to 3PM
Over 150 colleges and universities will be in attendance.
This is a great way to meet with representatives from a
variety of schools
No registration is required.

• All JOA Sophomore Scholars are to report to
Mrs. Kasunic in Room 208 on Tuesday
morning, September 24, at 7:45am.

library if you are able to provide
tutoring this semester.
The library is open
every morning
from 7:00 – 7:40am.
