JOA Scholars – check email today and respond as necessary!

• • • Picture re-takes will be taken on Friday, October 18th in the Study Area beginning at 8:00am. Students must sign up in the Main Office by Thursday, October 17th. A flyer with the picture package pricing information is available in the Main Office.

If you are having your pictures re-taken, you must return your complete picture package that day. Students who transferred or were absent on the original picture day (August 27 th ) should sign up. If you are purchasing your pictures, you must bring your payment (exact cash or a check made payable to Lifetouch) with you at the time your picture is taken.

• The JOA Society of Scholars is sponsoring a campus showing of the documentary "Girl Rising". Come to a panel presentation on Friday, October 18 in the DiNardo Lecture Hall to learn more. Attend the Global Awareness Club event on Saturday, October 19. Buy a ticket and reserve your seat for the first showing Friday, November 8 @3:30pm in the JOA Theater! Join the movement! Stay tuned for more details!

• • • • The Global Awareness Club will be hosting a preview of the documentary “Girl Rising” on Saturday, October 19 th from 12:00 to 2:00 pm in the Lecture Hall! Come to see a sneak peek of the movie, and try food from countries around the world, including India, South America, and Africa. For more information please contact Angela Gloninger or Mrs. Fratto. All are welcome!

There will be a Film Club meeting on Tuesday, October 15th in room 209 immediately after school.

• • • PSAT Testing for Sophomores and Juniors on Wednesday, October 17.

Dismissal is at 11:30 Freshmen and Seniors do not have school on Wednesday.

Today's Girls Tomorrow's Women will meet Thursday, October 17th in room 209 immediately after school.

If there are any additional resumes please give them to Ms. Hudock by Wednesday.

French Club will hold its first meeting on Thursday, October 17 in Room 208.

Cross Country News

• • • • Lauren Finikotis finished 2nd, MaKenzie Zeh 4th, Emma Doerfler 7th and Maria DeRenzo 9th as the Oakland Catholic Cross Country Team won the Catholic Conference Championship last Thursday.

Francesco Bowser also won the JV race Congratulations to all JV and Varsity Team members.

The team will now travel to Slippery Rock for the Tri State Championship on Thursday. Good Luck

Volleyball News

• • • Congratulations to the varsity volleyball team. They went undefeated on Saturday to win the Elizabeth Forward Tournament. Come support the eagles for a pink game for Senior Night on Thursday. The team plays Shaler for the section championship.
