The role of the National Regulatory Authority
• Monitoring of the domestic wholesale markets to prevent market
abuse
• Cooperation with ACER on data collection and monitoring tasks
• Investigation of specific cases on national or regional level upon
request from ACER
• Accommodate information access upon request from ACER
Register for market participants
• DERA shall establish a national register for all market participants
on the wholesale markets in Denmark
• ACER will establish a European register based on the national
registers.
Cooperation between regulators and exchanges
• “Organised markets” (e.g. exchanges) has a duty to inform NRA’s if
they have a reasoned suspicion that a transaction is market abuse
• And at the same time maintain effective procedures to identify
market abuse

• Information and dialogue on REMIT
• Cooperation with NordPool Spot (Regulatory Council)
• Cooperation forum with NordPool Gas
• National monitoring of wholesale markets for electricity and gas
• Project with Energinet.dk on transparency platform for the Danish
gas market
• Coordination forum with Financial Authority and Energy Agency
• Coordination forum with Danish Competition and Consumer
