What is the Recognition Grant Program?

The Recognition Grant program funds unsolicited requests that propose projects that fit within the Foundation's mission of improving the health of all Kansans  The Foundation awards $2 Million annually  Grants of up to $25,000 per Organization per year  Applications deadlines are – March 15 th & September 15 th

How can funds be used to support policy initiatives?

• In addition to supporting projects, the Foundation also seeks to support initiatives that focus on

promoting policy, systems and environmental

(PSE) transformations that support health. Funding may be used to support the following activities of the proposed initiative: • Strategic communication • Coalition building • Data collection to inform or support an initiative, or • Non-lobbying advocacy actions.

The Review Process

 An independent review committee made up of Kansans from all walks of life who live in different areas of the state evaluate all of the grant applications received in each Recognition Grant cycle

Criteria & Typical Questions to Consider…

 Does this proposal address a significant community health problem that is defined in a clear and compelling way?

 Are the outcomes of the project clear, measurable and reasonable?

 Is the budget appropriate for the planned activities?
