Introduction
• Project Goal:
– Our original goal was to use grants to obtain as
much money and supplies as we can for the
Rogers Fire Dept. Specifically, trying to attain
an exhaust ventilation system.
Project Statement:
- Our original Statement was: The Fire Dept.
safeguards the public. We want to help them
as much as we can and make their jobs safer as
they risk their lives for the public’s well-being.
Specific Ambitions
• To receive grants that could help further
the education of fire safety in schools.
• To receive a grant for The Sliding
Balancer Track (SBT) System.
• To receive grants that could help
purchase GPS devices for fire trucks.
Project History
• We spent time with the firefighters and
got to know their basic wants and needs.
• We started researching for grants and
possible leads on donations in order to
try and fulfill the needs we were made
aware of.
• We found and applied for several grants.
• We acquired a donation for fire
education in schools.
Project Dead Ends
• We contacted MagneGrip, the company
that designs and produces the fire exhaust
system and asked for their assistance.
• We waited about three weeks and we
didn’t receive any response. As a result,
we moved on and started looking for
different grants and donations elsewhere.
• We also looked into some other grants,
but were rejected as well.
Accomplishments
• We obtained a donation for fire
education from a local Wal-Mart vendor,
Team Direct Management.
• We will present our research results to
the Rogers City Council.
Project Future
• Our next step is to present our research
to the Rogers City Council and speak on
behalf of the firefighters’ needs.
• We would like to continue helping the
fire dept. as much as possible.
