HIPPS - High integrity pressure protection system Example system to be used in PK6022 DCV = Directional control valves • Electrically (solenoid) operated directional control valves, sometimes referred to as solenoid valves or just DCVs • In the following, we refer to these valves as DCVs. HCV = hydraulic control valves • Pilot operated DCVs, where the pilot signal may be hydraulic or pneumatic pressure • The valves may also be referred to as hydraulic control valves (HCVs) or hydraulic dump valves (HDV) • In the following HDV is used Component Pressure transmitter 𝜆𝐷𝑈 Value = 0.3 ∙ 10−6 /ℎ𝑟 𝜆𝐷𝐷 = 0.5 ∙ 10−6 /ℎ𝑟 Source PDS data handbook (2010) 𝜆𝑆𝑈 = 0.4 ∙ 10−6 /ℎ𝑟 Logic solver 𝜆𝐷𝑈 = 0.8 ∙ 10−6 /ℎ𝑟 𝜆𝐷𝐷 = 7.2 ∙ 10−6 /ℎ𝑟 PDS data handbook (2010) 𝜆𝑆𝑈 = 6.4 ∙ 10−6 /ℎ𝑟 Solenoid/pilot valve 𝜆𝐷𝑈 = 1.6 ∙ 10−6 /ℎ𝑟 𝜆𝐷𝐷 = 0.6 ∙ 10−6 /ℎ𝑟 HIPPS valve PDS data handbook (2010) 𝜆𝑆𝑈 = 3.4 ∙ 10−6 /ℎ𝑟 (pilot/solenoid valve x 2) 𝜆𝐷𝑈 = 2.1 ∙ 10−6 /ℎ𝑟 PDS data handbook (2010) 𝜆𝐷𝐷 = 0.9 ∙ 10−6 /ℎ𝑟 𝜆𝑆𝑈 = 2.1 ∙ 10−6 /ℎ𝑟
