DCV = Directional control valves
• Electrically (solenoid) operated directional
control valves, sometimes referred to as
solenoid valves or just DCVs
• In the following, we refer to these valves as
DCVs.
HCV = hydraulic control valves
• Pilot operated DCVs, where the pilot
signal may be hydraulic or pneumatic
pressure
• The valves may also be referred to as
hydraulic control valves (HCVs) or
hydraulic dump valves (HDV)
• In the following HDV is used
