KENDRIYA VIDYALAYA
MUZAFFARNAGAR
Situated in the heart of the sugarcane belt, Kendriya Vidyalaya
Muzaffarnagar was established in 1999. 9 acres of land tailored
to suit the educational needs of children, has all the facilities –
well ventilated classrooms, science and computer labs,
playground, drinking water and sanitation facilities.
GENESIS
Established under the aegis of
Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, an
autonomous body under the ministry
of HRD, the vidyalaya had classes 1 to
5 started in the old building which
earlier belonged to DIET (District
Institute of Educational Training).
In the year 2002, first batch of X class
appeared. Double section school
started in 2003 in the new building. 2
Playgrounds were developed. In the
same year classes XI-XII with science
stream started running in the
Vidyalaya. In 2009, commerce stream
was also introduced.
TODAY’S
SCENARIO
Today, our vidyalaya has total strength of 1000
students and 40 teachers. 24 classrooms,
physics, chemistry and biology labs, 2 computer
labs with 56 computers, huge playgrounds, a
junior science lab, and 2 resource rooms for
primary and secondary sections respectively
provide only the infrastructure which is used
optimally by our qualified teachers to create the
right atmosphere for teaching-learning process.
The results of the board classes with a
Performance Index of 64.7 in class 12th and 67
in class 10th is testimony to this.
SCHOLASTICS
Besides the board class results, our
Vidyalaya pays special attention to the
tiny tots through programmes like
Common Minimum Programme (CMP)
which is a flagship programme of
KVS. Under this, children are taught
through powerpoint presentations,
activities, games and movies through
the facilities made available in the
primary section’s activity room.
The participations in various academic
competitions like maths, science and
cyber olympiads and ‘Kishore
vaigyanik protsahan yojana, expands
the mental horizon of our children and
equips them for the tough competition.
CO-SCHOLASTICS
Sports and games have been an integral part of the
school curriculum where infrastructure for indoor
and outdoor games exists to provide our students all
the opportunities to explore their talents. Coaches
appointed in cricket, football, volleyball, basketball
and athletics are leaving no stone unturned to
identify and nurture future Sachin Tendulkars, P.T.
Ushas.
Our students fetched 2 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze
medals at KVS regional level games while two of our
students fetched gold in national games in Judo and
Kho-Kho. One student, Rahul Rana went on to
participate in SGFI games in judo.
We also conduct quiz competitions, debates,
declamations and group discussions at school,
regional and national level, to sharpen their
communication and thinking skills and enrich their
knowledge on social and political matters.
Talents of our students in the field of
music, dance and dramatics comes to
the fore through various co-curricular
activities planned throughout the year.
Under the house system, the
competitions are held house-wise to
encourage and explore the talents of
students which culminates in the
grandeur of the annual function.
The scout and guide programmes is live
and thriving in the vidyalaya with the
objective of inculcating the values of
self-discipline and social welfare.
National Adolescent Education
Programme (NAEP)
Sponsored by United Nation’s Development
Programme (UNDP), this programme is
introduced with an aim to support and
strengthen the emotional, social and moral
foundation of our adolescents who are passing
through a delicate phase of their life.
Workshops on AIDS awareness, substance
abuse, and peer pressure are held from time to
time.
In the end, it would be appropriate to
mention that the policy of our vidyalaya
and KVS in general believes in
education as the birthright of every
child without any discrimination of
caste, creed, class and gender. We are
proud to say that we do not select our
students on the basis of the
educational and financial background
of their parents but we take even the
first generation learner and help him
reach the top. In this context, the
parent-teacher association and our
interaction with the local community at
large is very active and vibrant and
gives us the correct feedback for
further improvement of our vidyalaya.
This philosophy aptly represents our motto of
“ rr\ Roe\ iwYau\ Aiao`.aq “
Taken from a shloka of
bZ’kkokLykksifuYan\
Which means “ o! God of light, please unveil
the golden vessel which obscures the truth
and show us that which is true and righteous.”
THANK YOU!
