Local VCT program

Initiated in 2006.
•
basic qualifications for local volunteer Chinese teachers:
•overseas Chinese and Chinese students aboard with legal resident status in the country of residence, •Bachelor degree or above and standard Mandarin, •age between 22 to 60, •physically and mentally healthy, no criminal record, •Qualified to Standards for teachers of Chinese to speaker of other languages •and communicative competence of local language.
How to apply for local VCTs
如何申请海外志愿者
• CI recommends Candidates who meet the requirements for local VCT • CI & candidates prepare application forms downloadable from http://www.hanban.org/volunteers • CI contacts education office of Chinese embassy for approval • CI submits application documents to Volunteer Center, Hanban • Candidates attend video conference interview organized by volunteer center
Compensation
津贴待遇
Hanban
： • Stipend of USD1000 per month • Accident insurance • International air-tickets in collaboration with foreign institutions
Host institutions
• Housing and medical insurance • Transportation and telecommunication
For local VCT, Hanban provides only stipend.
