• Our topics this year will include:
Anglo-Saxons, Vikings, Adventure
The lion, the witch and the wardrobe,
Earth and Space and Ancient Greece
Homework
• Given out by week 2 of each term
• Choice of 6 open ended tasks. Children expected
to complete at least 4 of them. Looking for high
quality work in year 5. Expectations are high in
terms of presentation and content.
• Reading, spelling and times table practise
expected to continue throughout the term.

Assemblies
• Every other Thursday – Celebration Assembly
where certificates are issued and birthdays are
celebrated. You will continue to be notified about
certificates a week in advance in the “ What we
are learning sheet” or on the website
• The last Friday of each term has a whole school
celebration assembly led by Mrs Griffin
• Each class will also do a book assembly and a
class topic assembly once per year. Dates will be
issued in advance
Year 6 Camp
Next year the camp will be held at the start of the
school year rather than at the end.
