How to Access Self-Service
Banner (SSB)
From the MyUTK portal, click on the
Student Self-Service link in the UTK
Student Information System web
block.
OR
Select the Self-Service Banner link in
the UTK Faculty Links web-part.

Go to MyUTK
From the UTK Advisor Links web part:
1. Select a term.
2. Select a student.
3. Click the “Clear Advising
Requirement” link. This will take
you to SSB to the Clear Advising
Requirement page.

Path for others authorized to clear advising requirement
From the Faculty & Advisor menu in SSB:
1. Choose “Student Information Menu”
2. Choose “ID Selection”.
3. If you know the student ID, fill in the “Student or Advisee ID” box.
If you do not know the student ID, enter the student’s last name and
first name in the boxes provided (hint: % may be used as a wildcard).
4. Submit your information.
5. You may be asked to verify the student you have requested. You will
return to the previous menu, where you will select Clear Advising
Requirement.
6. Clear an advising hold by clicking on “Clear Advising 1”.
