* Government had initiated the National Child Labour Project (NCLP) Scheme in
1988 to rehabilitate working children in child labour endemic districts of the country in
order to enable them to be mainstreamed into formal schooling system.

Recipes
 In compliance with the observation of Joint Review Mission deputed by
the Government of India recipes have been reviewed so as children
receive the prescribed nutritive value through meal. As per the
observation of the mission, more vegetables and pulses have been
included. New recipes are as under:-

MID DAY MEAL SUPPLIED BY ISKCON
Cooked food is also being served by ISCKON Food Relief
Foundation in : Faridabad district - Since Dec’06
 Thanesar Block (Kurukshetra) - Since 01.04.08
 Ladwa and Pehowa Block (Kurukshetra) since 01.05.2011.
 Palwal District (Except Hathin Block) since December 2010 &
 Gurgaon District since 15.07.2011.
 At present ISCKON is serving Mid Day Meal to 2,63,052 students
across all these districts.
 The State allots them food grains and cooking cost is provided as per the norms
fixed by Govt. of India i.e. Rs. 3.34 per primary student & Rs. 5.00 per upper
primary student. In addition to this Rs. 1.50 per student is contributed by
ISKCON towards cooking cost.

Jath Joshi, Sonepat, Cookers are available in 5 litre & 8 litre
capacities.
Schools have been provided funds amounting Rs.70.89 lakhs for the
purchase of soaps for washing hands for the students in the year
2013-14.
13 cook-cum-helpers have been trained from 19-08-2013 to
23-08-2013 at Jyotisar, near kalpana chawla plantarium, Kurukshetra;
18 cook-cum-helpers have been trained from 14-10-2013 to
23-10-2013 at Tiliyar Lake at Rohtak.
The State has also trained 200 cook-cum-helpers as Master trainers.
Advertisement on the Radio for promoting MDM are being
frequently aired.
Honorarium to cook has been increased from Rs. 1150/- to Rs.2500/per month in which the centre share is Rs.750/- and the State Share
is Rs.1750/- per month.

 Grievances Redressal system at State level with
telephone number (0172-2584522) and Email
address (mdmhry@ gmail.com) have been set
up for receiving complaints from general public
and have been extensively advertised in major
newspapers.
 Apart from this, Programme & Accounts
Executives working at the District and block
levels have also been doing monitoring.

 The Department has engaged 4 Monitoring officers at





division level to monitor the scheme.
Monitoring officers visited to the schools and submit their
report to Directorate.
These reports are compiled at Directorate level by
Programme Executives.
Action are usually taken at Directorate level and whenever
any deficiency is found which requires field attention ,
DEEO’s/Schools has also been instructed directly to resolve
the problem on an immediate basis by the HQ.
Till now 72 schools has been issued letters regarding
problem resolution on the basis of reports received from
Monitoring Officers.

1. 1126 spectacles has been distributed to children in the state.
2. Body weight and height of children and levels of Haemoglobin in Blood
tests are being regularly recorded.
3 Problematic cases were immediately referred to Public Health Centres for
proper medical assistance.
4. Rashtriya Bal Svasthya Karyakarm has been launched first time in
Haryana . Due to this covrage under SHP is less.

 Contingency Plan: 1.To provide first aid kit to all the schools.
 2. To grant Rs. 25000/- in case of injuries and to Ex-grant
Rs.100000/- in case of death while on duty.
 Strengthening of Management & Monitoring and Evaluation: 1. To review the implementation of MDM in two district by State
Review Mission.
 2. That at district level no recourse person is employed for
preparing AWP&B, to collect and compile data and to monitor
the scheme. The District Elementary Education Officer mostly
remain busy in academic and other administrative work,
therefore, there is a proposal to appoint one dedicated person
at each district for this purpose on contact basis for effective
implementation of the scheme. Similarly at head Quarter will
be strengthened as per the requirement.

Note : New Recipes formulated ion the basis of JRM recommendations will
be made effective from 1st April 2014
PUBLICITY
 The instructions regarding the rights & entitlement
and display of daily menu and MDMS logo have
already been issued to all the schools.
 Apart from this, radio jingles is being aired on BIG FM
92.7 and Radio Mantra 91.9 FM, OYE 104.8 FM twice a
day and these decisions has also been appreciated by
the GOI vide letter no. 11-1/2012-EE-6 (MDM 3-1) dated
27-04-2012.
 Grievance Cell No. 0172-2584522 of MDM at H.Q has
been published in the leading newspapers of the state.
