Completing the Digital Single Market for European Consumers and citizens:
Tackling Geo-Blocking in the EU
The aim of the meeting is to assess different aspects of the Commission Proposal for a
Regulation on Geo-Blocking. Presentations by independents experts on the interplay of the
proposal with the Rome 1 Regulation, on the EU measures prohibiting geo-blocking in sectors
outside of the Services Directive, and on the economic impact of a potential extension of the
scope to the non audiovisual copyrighted content services, will be held, examined and debated
with MEPs, Representatives of the Commissions, stakeholders and participants.
