Venue and Participation
• The Meeting (third and last) took place at
the Banco Central do Brasil Training
Center.
• Co-chaired by IMF and Banco Central do
Brasil.
• City group gathers a number of
representatives from countries and
international organisations.

Purpose of the Compilation Guide
• Respond to requests from users for
improvements in remittance data,
including G-8 Heads of State meeting at
Sea Island in June 2004 .
• Looks at remittances in a broad context
(including private transfers, compensation
of employees and supplementary
definitions proposed by the UN Technical
Subgroup on movement of persons)

Purpose of the Brasilia Meeting
• The Main purpose of the meeting was to
evaluate and discuss the first draft version
of the Compilation Guide on Remittances.
• Participants provided their views on the
draft version sent out prior to the meeting
and were asked to present any new
material they understood would improve
guidance to the compilation of
remittances.

The time frame
• The aim is now to present the draft for
public consultation in (end) September.
• The public consultation would last 6
weeks.
• Publication of the compilation guide by the
end of the year.
