Overview of EDP Graduate Degree Programs
• Masters (MSEd/MA) – Director is Dr. Saxon
• Dr. Davis coordinates the ABA specialization
• Dr. Morgan coordinates the MA-Quantitative specialization
• Dr. Johnsen coordinates the Gifted & Talented specialization
• EdS in School Psychology – Director is Dr. Beaujean
• PhD in Educational Psychology – Director is Dr. Johnsen

• EDP5393 Cultural Issues with Children & Families
• Mini-semester (May 15-29, 2016)
• Cost is ~$1600 and covers almost everything
• Scholarships are available (average between $400-$700)
Enrolling in Classes
• Step 1 – meet with your advisor to discuss your classes; once this is
complete the advisor has Heather lift your advising flag.
• Step 2 – access Bear Web and enroll in your classes.
• Step 3 – if there is a hold, required permit, or the class is closed talk to
your advisor or the Teacher of Record (TOR) to resolve the issue.
• Step 4 – once Heather is notified by your advisor or the TOR she will
lift the hold/issue a permit allowing you to enroll.
• Step 5 – back to Bear Web and enroll.

Graduate Research Travel Awards
Available awards
- Graduate School
- Student’s Home Department
- School of Education Dean’s Office
Purpose of awards – To support “presentation of findings of graduate-student
research, artistic performance, etc.”
Eligibility
- Formally registered for at least one credit hour at Baylor University during semester
in which the presentation is made
- Research is related to activity at Baylor
Graduate Research Travel Awards
Amount of Awards
Grad School – Up to two awards per year, at a maximum of $300 per award, for
travel to professional meetings to present research
Student’s Home Department – Amount varies based on available funds and type
of activity (see following slides)
School of Education Dean’s Office – Will match the departmental award, up to
$300 each time, twice annually

Grad School – Students generally receive awarded funds prior to departure

Up to amount of award or actual charges incurred, whichever is smaller
Dean’s Office Awards - Same as Department Level

Online Travel Expense Reports (TERs)

This form is the method used to receive department and Dean’s level awards, as
well as account for how the Graduate School award was expended.

ALL awards, including the Graduate School pre-travel award, are to be accounted
for – IN FULL – using this form.

Things to Remember when Completing the TER
-
The School of Education requires ALL itemized receipts to be submitted.
“Itemized” means the details of what was purchased (hamburger, fries, taco, etc.)
are clearly visible, as well as the name of the entity, date and time of purchase,
and the total amount.

Scanned and clearly legible/visible
Single layer on paper
Taped in chronological order
All facing in the same direction
Keep originals for at least sixty days from time you are paid

Dean’s award department is 0361308.

Graduate School award, including dollar amount, should be noted in
Comments section.

Program code for both department and Dean awards is “36GST.”

Short List of Important Travel Policies

Mileage is reimbursed based on point-to-point (see online mileage chart
under Travel Policies).

Parking should be remote (cheapest) option.

If traveling overnight within the State of Texas, be sure to take the Texas State
Occupancy Tax forms for Baylor.

Baylor will not reimburse for this type of tax in Texas.
