During the fall 2014 Ebola outbreak in West Africa, in a presentation to
the CDC, President Barack Obama stated that “the world is looking to"
the United States to lead international efforts to combat the virus.
President Obama went on to add that the Unites States is ready to take a
leadership role and to commit resources to help contain the spread of the
virus. Do you agree or disagree with the President’s statement that the
US should lead the effort to control the spread of the virus? Why or why
not? Write a fully-developed paragraph in response to these questions.
Support your position with specific details from the book, as well as
your learning and experience.
