Current Works
• Received new hardware and began testing
• Collecting data in MATLAB
– Wrote serial setup, data collection, and testing .m
functions
– Although, I could not get Simulink blocks to work
properly
• Wrote code to zero sensors, and determine
position and orientation
– Need to filter input: velocity plot is currently linear
when object is stationary
What’s Next?
• Focus on accurately determining orientation:
Implement Kalman filter in Matlab
• Add filter to smooth plots
– Maybe even just an averaging filter
• Improve integration by using trapezoidal rule
– Currently just assuming constant acceleration per
sampling period
