Planning a Trip
Final Exam Project
Directions
 Plan a one-day trip for you and your child (age 3 to 12) using
the internet to find valuable information.
 After your research is collected – create a storyboard
(graphic organizer of illustrations and words to explain a
story) to express your findings to the class.
 Final Project is due on Monday, June 2, 2014 (12th)
 Final Project is due on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 (10th and 11th )
Tips to remember
Preschoolers – age 3-5
 Are curious, love new
experiences and can’t wait
to explore.
 But because of their
restless energy, you’ll need
to make frequent stretch
and exercise stops.
 They get bored easily, so
have a variety of activities
they can participate in.
School-age children – age
6-12
 See the world as new and
exciting, full of things to do
and discover.
 Travel can be an exciting
educational experience.
 They have more stamina and
can tolerate more physical
driving.
 National parks, museums,
factory tours, camping and
amusement parks!!!
Storyboards must include:
1. Age and sex of your child
2. Where are you going? Directions? How many miles away?
3. What areas of development is the trip going to foster and
how? List at least 2 for each area (Social, Emotional,
Intellectual, Physical)
4. A plan of your day – schedule/agenda
5. Any costs that may be accumulated and in detail
Ex. Lunch -- $25 at eatery, gas -- $20, admission -$35
What to include – continued…
6. Potential problems and solutions for each (List at least 2
problems)
7. Write a reflection on your research, why did you choose this
place, what could you do differently next time you plan, why
is it important to plan ahead, would you be excited to go as a
child.
8. List of resources used (websites, books, pamphlets,
telephone #, etc…) Should have 2!
9. Pictures relevant to your topic.
