Overview of the chapter
• This chapter is intended to provide
more guidance on the use of
classifications presented in IRES and
present country example in the use of
these classifications

Comments from 3rd Virtual meeting
• Move section D to Chapter 5 (Poland, IEA)
• Include a topic related to secondary production
(Mexico)
• Establish an economic classification that equals
classifications systems in other countries (e.g.
NAICS, ANZSIC, NACE) (Mexico)
• Clarify the meaning of the correspondence of
energy industries to ISIC (IEA)
• Review the chapter in light the rest of the
chapters (Mexico)
• Terminology used for “energy purposes”
(Ireland)
What was done
• Included some text on the
correspondence if ISIC with related
classifications (NAICS and ANZSIC)
• Move some text so that the Table on
the correspondence of energy
industries is clearer
• Included country experience of
Denmark on the choice of statistical
unit for the survey on energy use in
manufacturing
• Included country experience on the
statistical units (and their
classification) used in end use survey
in Ghana
• Section D was not moved yet. To be
reviewed in light of chapter 4/5
What needs to be done
• Section E on classification of mineral
and energy resources
• Need to be finalized when the SEEAEnergy is finalized to ensure full
consistency
• Include country experience on the use of
such classification
• Review the chapter in light of the rest
of the chapters to avoid overlap and
gaps in information
