Trigger test plan
Test Reorganization
• ACD test STRs reorganized and are now all part of
standard trigger tests.
• Tests are classified into two categories:
– Early ACD trigger tests with ACD+GASU alone (some with
muon telescope) using LATTE 4, which can be performed
in the tent. These are necessary to establish basic ACD
trigger configuration as a base to facilitate development
of LAT level tests later.
– Full LAT trigger tests, include some ACD related tests.
Tests will be modular for LICOS/FSW and LATTE 4
compatibility (in most cases). They are also designed to
be usable as far as it could for the remaining journey of
the LAT after shipped out of SLAC.

Early Trigger ACD Tests
• These are essential pre-requisite for establishing
basic ACD settings for other trigger tests.
• Can be performed with ACD+GASU (some with
muon telescope) in the tent before LAT
integration.
• Scripts based on LATTE 4
• Need modern version of GASU with all ACD
connectors and firmware include GEM arrival time.
• Delay these tests until after full LAT integration
could miss opportunities for finding potential
problems early and significantly delay overall
schedule.

Early trigger ACD tests
• ACD channel uniformity map
– Charge injection tests: GEM veto list map,
arrival time uniformity and ROI&CNO triggers.
• ACD TREQ timing resolution
– TREQ tests with muon telescope as reference
for a few tiles.
• ACD hit latching control parameter tuning
– ACD hit delay & stretch effects and buffer
boundary.
• ACD standalone TACK scan.
• ACD trigger rate for each tile.

Early ACD test preparation
• Test scripts validated in the testbed lab.with
MiniLAT by Martin.
• Some worrisome effects observed on the MiniLAT
which should be verified with full ACD asap.

LAT Level Tests
• TREQ tests simultaneously for all towers/tiles and
using ACD ROI trigger as timing reference.
• TACK scan for TKR/CAL/ACD simultaneously using
TKR triggers (need to see if sufficient for ACD).
• Trigger efficiency tests (TRK/CAL/ACD triggers).
• ACD veto test (CAL trigger, check TKR+ROI veto)
• ACD trigger rate tests (ACD ROI trigger)
• GEM self integrity tests (mainly data monitoring to
check consistency)
