This method possibly reduces the dc-link capacitance. In this study, it was proposed to use the reactive power components of the IPMSM to counteract the converter power fluctuation. A distinguished feature is to make the current along a constant torque line in accordance with the input power ripple. Therefore, the torque ripple was minimized even when the currents oscillated. The oscillating range reduces as the motor torque increases. The torque ripples in experimental results were caused by imperfect matching due to the limits in current oscillation range and in current control bandwidth. The bounds of the current ripple could be solved by utilizing the Ferrari’s method. To facilitate a practical use, a recursive algorithm was proposed. The effectiveness of the proposed method was demonstrated through simulation and experimental results.
