Plan for today:
• Today, we are going to watch a film that is exactly 1
hour and 30 minutes long, so we need to get
started.
• Feel free to take notes. One of your assignments in
the BEACH will be to write a paragraph in response
to the film.
• I will be taking roll during the last five minutes of
class to save time. If you are not here when I take
roll, you will be marked absent.
Preparing to Watch:
• This documentary was released in 2011, and it is
about how popular culture and media represent
and portray women.
• We have talked about culture and identity, and in
the second part of the class, we are going to be
investigating how popular culture specifically play a
role in how we identity and how we conceptualize
others.
