Are students being missed placed?
NCES reported that special needs students (disable, at-risk or LEP) are
over-represented in CTE programs.
Most times, case workers may enroll students into the upper level
course to give the student career experience, skipping the academic –
introduction information.
CTE can’t be looked upon as a school-to-work transition program, unless
it was set-up with that initiation.
Education Equity
We must ensure a relevant and effective education experience
for all students who are work bound or college bound so how do
we promote academic achievement?
How do we provide education equity so our CTE programs are
respected and the course sequence is honored.
How do we ensure counselor, case workers and administration
doesn’t view our course as a source of an elective credit.
