How to Advertise a Faculty Position
0 Human Resources will coordinate with a third
party vendor to simplify and streamline placing
the advertisement.
0 Will design an ad and manage space to ensure the
maximum value of your recruitment budget.
0 Will receive a print quote returned in an approved
design template so you see the ad exactly as it will
appear. E-mail ad and quote information to Laura
Hensley in the Provost Office for approval from the
Provost before any advertisement can be processed.
0 Deadlines and cost are included with all quotes.

0 Step 1: Department initiates and routes Request for
Faculty Search form for approval to fill the position.
0 HR receives approved Request for Faculty Search form.
0 HR creates faculty vacancy file and awaits information
from department regarding point of contact for search
committee and ad information.
0 Step 2: Department reviews job description.
0 Step 3: Department creates draft advertisement
wording.
0 Step 4: Department determines what advertising
(media) sources to utilize.

0 Step 5: Department emails the following to Sherry
Driggers ([email protected]) and/or Myrna Flores
([email protected]) in HR :
0 Draft ad copy
0 Names of advertising sources to be utilized or ask for
suggestions
0 Step 6: HR forwards the draft to vendor.
0 Step 7: Vendor emails to HR the layouts and quotes
for cost of ad.

0 Step 8: HR reviews and forwards to department the
following:
0 Print ad(s) set in a pre-approved template.
0 The exact layout with costs and deadlines listed for each
media source. E-mail ad and quote information to Laura
Hensley in the Provost Office for approval from the Provost
before any advertisement can be processed.
0 Step 9: Department emails to HR edits or final
approval of the layout including approval from
Provost Office.

0 Step 10: HR forwards the edits or final approval of
the layout to the vendor.
0 If edit is needed, Vendor emails to HR the revised layout
and quotes for cost of ad.
0 When layout is approved, proceed to Step 11.
0 Step 11: Vendor places the ad in approved media
sources.

0 Step 12: Payment coordinated between
Department and Provost Office.
0 Will cut down on administrative costs and centralize the
