Ralph is starting to lose control of the group. As the
conch shell becomes less useful, any semblance of civility and
order is beginning to become unraveled. On top of this, a
power rival is emerging – Jack – and it looks as though he
might have the ability to take control from Ralph for once.
What advantage(s) does Jack have over Ralph as far
as taking and holding on to power? Conversely, what
advantage(s) does Ralph have to maintain leadership over the
group?
