Tasting Dinner - Friday, November 4th.
Arrival from 7pm to be seated at 8pm
Once again we’ve teamed up with Bibendum, a very well respected name in the
wine industry, to bring you our second four course tasting dinner. The cost of the
meal to include the listed wines is once again a truly remarkable £45!
Ales will be available to purchase separately pre-dinner and Cognac and cigars will
be available for post dinner banter on the terrace.
Alongside the fine Northern Italian inspired menu from our Head Chef ‘Craig
Thomson’ we’ll be showcasing wines from the brilliant portfolio of Piedmont, the
powerhouse of Northern Italian wine producers....giving you the opportunity to try
a classic such as Paolo Conterno’s outstanding Barolo or the lesser known but
equally excellent Roero Arneis from Vietti.
Offering up his many years of knowledge of the wine trade for interrogation
and talking us through the chosen wines will be Mr. John Crabtree from
Bibendum Wines…a softly spoken, quiet, shy gentleman... Not!
After an early career in the hospitality industry, John found his way into drinks wholesale and
then 9 years ago joined Bibendum Wine ltd to focus on the world of wine. Although often
glamorised, it must be remembered that this is essentially flogging booze to people that want to buy
it and this has enabled John to develop his career in various roles within Bibendum. Currently the
Senior Account Manager looking after Oxfordshire and other areas, his passion for wine
thankfully dwarfs his actual knowledge.
