
It is annually held in Munich Germany


The event can bring over 450 million euros to
coffers each year
The largest Oktoberfest celebration in the US is held
in Zinzinnati Ohio.
History
Oktoberfest started in
1810


The festival was
celebrated on October
12 for the marriage of
Bavarian Crown Prince
Ludwig to the SaxonHildburghausen
Princess Therese.
The festival was held

amusement rides setup

The festival starts when

Munich drives a
wooden tap into a beer
barrel.


The most common food is Hendl

Hendl is a whole chicken grilled on a spit



A lot of meat is found at the Oktoberfest the
most common is pork
A lot of different desserts are offered
Some desserts consist of sugar-glazed almonds,
cotton candy, glazed fruit, ice cream, and ginger
bread men with slogans in icing written on them
Beer

The most common beverage and most well
known at Oktoberfest

The beer is called Märzen

It is stronger and darker than traditional beer

It can contain up to 6% alcohol

The beer must be brewed according to strict
German standards called Reinheitsgebot.
Music




The music is typically folk, polkas, and marches.
Not only is folk music found here there can also
be popular music from around the world.
Some will link arms and sway back and forth
As the evening goes on the music can get louder
and louder.
