EXAMPLES – FOOD AND NON-FOOD
……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….……………………………..
• I want to look at the barriers to entry that exist in the
UK’s grocery retail sector and the effect that these
have on the market structure.
• To investigate linguistic features of stance in
transcripts of research interviews available through
the Qualidata archive.

EXAMPLES - EDUCATION
……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….……………………………..
• Teaching Masters of public health students about qualitative
data analysis. Many of students are interested in physical
health and obesity issues in Public health. I will teach thematic
analysis techniques.
• Information will be used to help inform primary research which
is being carried in the food deserts of [name of city].
• I am currently preparing for my [ ] research, in which I am
planning to focus on the cheese industry. I am interested in all
players, large and small, who contribute to this industry and the
supply-chain which connects farms to consumers. My research
interest is centred around the issue of energy. I am very
interested to know more about the efforts of farmers, retailers,
in adapting their businesses to reduce energy consumption.
