1. H-1B visa.
The US H1B visa is a non-immigrant visa that allows US companies to employ
foreign workers in specialty
occupations that require theoretical or technical
expertise in specialized fields such as in architecture, engineering,
mathematics, science, and medicine.
2. F-1 visa is a non-immigrant visa that issues to international students who are
attending an academic program or English Language Program at a US colleges
or universities.
What is the OPT and CPT?

STEM(STEM is an acronym referring to the academic disciplines of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.)
New 94 STEM designated degree programs are added to the existing list
Newly included degree programs are from fields like pharmaceutical sciences, econometrics, quantitative economics, and etc.
All 94 newly added STEM degree programs are eligible for 17 month OPT Extension
In order to qualify for 17 month OPT extension you need to meet the following criteria:
Degree from your Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctoral is listed in a STEM program
The employer you plan to work for is part of E-Verify Program
You have not utilized or used 17 month OPT extension
You are maintaining legal status in America

OPT ⇒ After College
CPT ⇒ During College (Not for money, but for your resume!)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------CPT Eligibility Requirements for De Anza Students:
1. You must finish one full academic year (at least one quarter at De Anza.)
2. You need to receive a job offer letter
3. Work must be related to field of study or major.
4. Must be registered for an Internship course (1-5 units) concurrently
during the same quarter while in CPT.
How can international students work
while studying at College in the U.S?
If you are an international student working 6 hours a week, you need to pay
$410 to school. Assume you get $8 per hour,
$8 * 5 hours (per week) * 12 weeks (per quarter) = $480 - $410 = $70
* CPT is provided by Foothill College so you need to register for Foothill College.
