Essay
Creative writing is considered to be any writing,
fiction, poetry, or non-fiction, that goes outside the
bounds of normal professional, journalistic, and
academic forms of literature. Creative writing can be
in the form of a novel, short story, poetry, play, or
musical lyrics.
Creative writing lets us express ourselves and our
ideas, thoughts, emotions, and viewpoints in a way
no other writing can. It is about individual freedom.
This can be the most difficult form of writing, but also
the most rewarding and enlightening.

WRITING PROMPTS
My Uncle is a
scientist. One
day, I was
searching
through my
Uncles house.
I found a
very strange
machine
with many
buttons,
knobs, dials,
and levers.
On one side, there was a
button that said ‘on’.
While digging in
the dirt, I found
an old dirty lamp.
I started to
wipe the dirt off,
when suddenly
a genie
appeared and
promised to
grant me three
wishes.
I was standing in front
of the caves entrance.
There were some signs
outside warning people
to keep out.
I wondered what could
be in there and I had a
flashlight.
