The Far Eastern Art Museum
The Art Museum is one of the most interesting museums in our city. It was opened in 1931. We can find works by Repin, Shishkin, Levitan, Aivazovsky there. There are many pictures of old Italian, Flamish and French artists: Rubens, Rembrant, Dolci, Monet. The visitors can admire the works of the Far Eastern painters: Fedotov, Gorbunov, Vysotsky, Zorin. The State Far Eastern Museum
The State Far Eastern Museum was founded in 1894 and named after General Grodekov. There is a stone tortoise in front of the building. The museum has a great number of exhibits. Its rich collections give an all-round picture of the past and present of the Krai, its natural treasures and achievements. There are some sections in the museum:“Nature”,“History”, “Ethnography” and “Modern History”. You can see minerals, flora and fauna of the taiga. Don’t be afraid of a tiger and bears! They don’t want to eat you! The section “History” shows many objects and photographs about the past and present of our Krai. You can find the books of Vladimir Klavdievich Arsenyev, the explorer of the Far East. 11

The Musical Comedy Theatre
The Musical Comedy Theatre was opened in 1926. It has operettas, comedies and operas on its stage.
The spectators can see such operettas as “Trembita”, “Bayadera” and “Silva” and admire the beautiful music and actors’ brilliant voices.
