Summary
•
An approach is proposed where installation and commissioning is split in 3 phases:
– SPS extraction / TT40
– TI 8
– injection elements + temporary warm line

Planning looks feasible,
although not yet achieved.
which should help to use subsequent test and beam times to their best,
i.e. to be best prepared for the sector test + injection milestone.
Many circumstances have to fit to translate this planning into reality
(extraction delivered, no CE delays, no crane breakdowns, …).
Main magnets incl. vacuum are already available, but many ingredients should arrive
just-in-time (MKI, MSI vacuum, transport system, …).
For certain elements surrogate solutions exist (e.g. MKI, if necessary).
Baseline planning is to have all injection elements (MKI, MSI, TDI/TCDD
+ associated vacuum + instrumentation) installed at their definitive
locations and the remainder to the triplet left of IP8 to be filled
temporarily by TI 2 and SPS material.
Progress + constraints need to be closely monitored.
2002 and even more 2003 are decisive.
