The Irony of this Language “Progression”
Falling back to the age of ARPANET
(Advanced Research Projects Agency
Network) when cryptic syntaxes were used.
Time saving writing styles developed into a
code that “newbies” find difficult to
understand.
Reasons we may see this…
Internet users try to communicate at a natural
talking speed while using typed words.
“Accountability breeds meticulousness,
anonymity breeds indolence.”
Conformity
The trouble is…
Communication over the web is only represented
through written word.
The norm is to “speak” in a loose and informal tone.
Word choice is colloquial and diction tends to be
poor.
Proper and well developed word choices are viewed
as impeding the audience’s understanding, and are
held in contempt.

Car
Possible Consequences:
Though internet communication does not
follow the rules of the English language, it
may soon help to change our language, as
language evolves as needed.
“net-speak” may find its own voice, and
evolve as its own form of communiocation.
