•
To review TX SET’s direction on long
term solution (three proposals) for Mass
Transition with RMS
–
TX SET would like RMS’ comments/opinions
on the three proposals
1. Reinstitution of the 814_10 Drop to POLR
2. 814_03s sent by ERCOT
3. 814_01s sent by POLR

Option 1
• Reinstitute the Drop to POLR
process in the TX SET transactions.
Current 814_10 Drop to AREP
transaction would be given
upgrades so that both Drops to
POLR and AREP could be
accomplished with the transaction.

Pros
• With cooperation, more
Customer Information of the
three alternatives
• Would not require changes to
Drop to AREP business
process
• Minimal cost to the Market
(business process already
exists, minor transaction
changes)
• ADDED BENEFIT: Would allow
process to be used for one
off Drop to POLR situations

proven that in the majority CRs
defaulting do not participate in

Relying on Default CR to
participate is a risk to the overall

Ensures quicker transactional
processing by initiation by
ERCOT. Alleviates the issue of
the CR limitation on submitting
50 switches per day for a Mass
Transition
Minimal CR changes to get the
customer switched
Customer switch is not
dependent upon the defaulting
CR
Solution could be used
regardless of whether the CR is
cooperating or not.

Option 3
• POLR sends 814_01 enrollment
transactions on behalf of Default CR
(“TS” transfer code included for
urgency). ERCOT forwards request
to TDSP. TDSP responds to ERCOT
these responses are forwarded to
the POLR. The TDSP then sends
appropriate 867 transactions.

getting the customer
