Recycle the Gulf® Overview

Recycle the Gulf® is an offshore waste and recycling program developed to reduce and recycle the volume of waste generated offshore in the Gulf of Mexico.

–The Recycle the Gulf® Program provides a means to companies

to reduce and separate the volume of waste produced on offshore installations with deposit bins onshore.

– Tech Oil Products collects, grades, and accounts for the volume

of recyclable waste received from each company offshore.

–All recyclables are donated to Arc of Iberia, an organization

which benefits disabled individuals in our community.

• In 2004, the Recycle the Gulf® Program was honored with the Gulf

Guardian Award by the EPA for its “collaborative environmental efforts leading to neighborhood solutions that transcend political boundaries.”- Benjamin Grumbles, EPA

• To date, Recycle the Gulf® participants have recycled over

4.1 million pounds of waste.

• Recycle the Gulf® assists companies in becoming compliant with

environmental standards set forth by MARPOL 73/78 and ISO 14001.

• Recycle the Gulf® is a system to improve our partners’

environmental impact and the influence of their organization.

The Recycle the Gulf® Program generates revenue for ARC of Iberia, while providing disabled individuals with jobs and purpose each day.

• ARC of Iberia is committed to securing for all people with

developmental disabilities the opportunity to develop, function, and live to their fullest potential.

o All recyclable material resulting from the Recycle the Gulf® Program is

donated to the ARC of Iberia.

- The ARC of Iberia recycling center employs disabled individuals,

who separate and repackage the recyclables

· Those recyclables are then sold, providing revenue for ARC

of Iberia.

How Does Recycle the Gulf Work?

• Tech Oil Products

provides compactors for rent or purchase to rigs operating in the Gulf of Mexico.

• Recyclables are sorted

and compacted on the rig, then shipped in green bags to the rig’s dock facility.

• Reports are updated

monthly and posted to the Tech Oil website, which can be accessed by personnel using a password at any time.
