(A Rap)
Lady! Lady! My shoes don’t match!
One is red and one is blue.
One is bigger than the other shoe.
Oh, no! Oh, no!
Lady! Lady! My shoes don’t match!
One is high and one is low.
One is bigger, it shows my toe.
Oh, no! Oh, no!
Lady! Lady! My shoes don’t match!
One is big and one is small.
One is bigger than the rest of all.
Oh, no! Oh, no!

Mrs Grindy was tired of her
(wanted / did not want)
shoes.
She went to the shop for some
new ones.
“You’ve come to the right place,”
(good)
said the saleswoman.
“I’ve got hundreds of shoes. I’ll
find the shoes that are right for
you.”
“Left and right,” said Mrs Grindy.
“How about these red shoes? You
would look good in red.”
“I don’t like red,”
said Mrs Grindy.
“Well, how about these blue shoes?
Blue is your colour.”
“I don’t like blue,”
said Mrs Grindy.
“Look!” said the saleswoman.
“These shoes have no toes and no
heels. They’re the latest fashion.”
“My feet would get cold,” said Mrs
Grindy.
“For cold feet, you should try
furry boots,” said the saleswoman.
“I don’t like furry
boots,” said Mrs
Grindy.
“High heels!” said the saleswoman.
“Too high!” said
the saleswoman.
“Flat heels!” said the saleswoman.
“Too flat!” said
the saleswoman.
The saleswoman kept on bringing
out shoes. Mrs Grindy kept on
trying them.
There hundreds of shoes on the
floor of the shop.
At last Mrs Grindy found some
shoes she liked.
“These are the ones!
They’re the right colour.
They look right. They feel
right. I’ll take them!”
“Oh, Mrs Grindy!” cried the
saleswoman. “Those are the old
shoes you were wearing when you
came in here.”
