arts curriculum.

was the television.

With schools adding computers and the
internet to classrooms, technology has
been directly integrated into the
curriculum.
• Students can use the computers to access
learning programs in the classroom.

The internet has brought a world of endless
possibilities into the learning
environment.
• Students can research at virtually the
touch of a button, nearly any subject with
internet search engines that are
specifically designed for children, which
include:
Search Engines
• Yahooligans: a directory and a web
guide designed for children. Sites are
appropriate for ages 7 to 12.
• Ask Jeeves for Kids: a search engine
and directory based on natural
language. You just type in a
question, and it finds the best site to
match your question.
• Searchopolis: a directory and search
engine organized for students in the
elementary grades, middle grades,
and high school.

The internet not only provides students with
boundless information, but there is a wealth of
informational resources on the Internet
available for teachers as well.
