Milling
Milling is:
A machining process where a rotating multi tooth
cutter travels along the part in various axis
Vertical and Horizontal machines
What we have is:
A “Column and Knee” type, most common in tool
rooms and school shops.


The main casting is the column.
The knee is a moveable bracket attached to
the column, supporting the table.
Directions of motion
The table can move:

Left and right (X axis)

Forward and Backward (Y axis)

Up and Down (Z axis)

The head can tilt left, right, forward and back.
