O VERVIEW
The Intensive Program 2016 on “SDGs and the Age of Sustainability: Ready for a reset?”, which
will be held in Pavia April 18-22, 2016, represents the chance to present and discuss the various
aspects in which development cooperation is changing through time. The course, taught in
English, is organized by the Cooperation and Development Network (CDN).
The program, which will be characterized by lectures, exercises and simulations, will mainly focus
on:
a) New theoretical and political scenarios (the new 2030 Agenda, The role of structural
transformation and the contribution of migration and diasporas, the effects of climate
change on development and human rights, food security and the SGDs and innovative
finance);
b) New challenges for the New Development Cooperation (social inclusion, aid
effectiveness, accountability, role of civil society, impact evaluation).

W HO MAY APPLY ?
The Intensive Program 2016 is open to a maximum of 10 participants and is addressed to
professionals, aspiring professionals, members of organization within the Third Sector, project
managers but also researchers in the field of Development Cooperation.

F INAL D EGREE
At the end of the Intensive Program 2016 a certificate of attendance will be issued by the Institute for Advanced Study
(IUSS). It is possible, though not compulsory, to receive 3 Credits in the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS), after
passing a specific exam.

Deadline for enrollment is set at the April 15, 2016. The fee is set at € 300,00 .
Special discounts are set for candidates working in NGOs, Institutions partner of the CDN, students enrolled at the
University of Pavia and IUSS and for specific disadvantaged categories.
The fee includes attendance to lectures and didactic material; the cost of the accommodation in Pavia for the whole
period is not included. The Secretariat will be ready to give any information on possible accommodations at affordable
prices.
