Transcript Enabling technologies in 3D cancer organoids

Dear colleague,
We would like to invite you to the
UNITO-POLITO CONFERENCE SERIES IN CANCER
Enabling technologies in 3D cancer organoids
March 8-9, 2016.
Molecular Biotechnology Center
Torino Via Nizza 52
Co-organized by prof. Federico Bussolino (Università di Torino) and prof.
Flavio Canavero (Politecnico di Torino), the conference focuses on novel
3D models of tissues and diseases.
While tissues and organs are 3D, the core of oncological research is based
on 2D cell cultures or animal models which are far from
physiological environment.
In vitro 3D models provide a challenging system that bridges the gap
between traditional cell culture and the animal models. The in vitro 3D
approach fulfills a need for reductionistic approaches to understand in vivo
molecular mechanisms and can offer a cheaper and faster platform for drug
screening and biomarker discovery.
