Transcript The Most Holy Trinity - Holy Angels` Roman Catholic Church

208 - 2
4th Sunday Ordinary Time
January 31, 2016
We are to walk in God’s
way of love.
1) Pilgrimage Tour to the Holy Land, Petra and
Rome – October 27 to November 10, 2016 – 15
days $3,390 plus tax. If you wish to join Fr.
Mariusz on this tour to the Holy Land please pick
up a brochure at the back of the church and register.
Today’s Gospel tells of Jesus coming to his
hometown of Nazareth and teaching in the
synagogue on the Sabbath. Jesus reads a passage
from the prophet Isaiah, which told of the Messiah
God promised to bring healing, restoration and
salvation to the people of Israel. Jesus announces:
“Today this Scripture passage is fulfilled in your
hearing.”
2) Please pick up your envelopes for 2016. Blank
boxes of envelopes are available for new
parishioners at the entrance of the church.
The majority of the people gathered there were
blinded by their experience of Jesus growing up
humbly among them as the son of a carpenter. The
Messiah was supposed to be like King David and so
they rejected Jesus and his message of salvation.
4) Year of Mercy – Holy Door: For information
about how to obtain the Jubilee Indulgence go to
https://www.archtoronto.org./mercy/ .
How often do we think things should unfold and
happen in our lives in a certain time and fashion
because we have prayed for them? And then when
they do not, we feel discouraged and frustrated and
turn away from God.
Ultimately, the only things that will bring us true
happiness, peace and joy are loving Jesus and trying
to walk in his way of love. Let us remember that
God hears and answers all our prayers, but he
answers them in his time and in the way that is best
for us.
If we bear this in mind it will help us to keep our
eyes fixed upon Jesus. This will enable us to
become more patient, gentle, kind, compassionate
and forgiving toward others. Our goal is to live in
such a way that we give glory to God, and invite
others to know the joy we have found in Jesus.
