Meeting Objectives
• Share NAIP implementation progress and challenges and identify
lessons learned.
• Discuss and identify lessons from efforts to coordinate and align
donor assistance to specific components of NAIPs.
• Review and discuss the 2014 areas of focus and workstreams /
thematic areas being proposed to sustain momentum and
sharpen focus on implementation efforts.
• Review and discuss the areas of focus to accelerate the impact of
NAIPs and investments on poverty and hunger reduction.

Regional Group Discussions - Task
• Objectives:
– Discuss country assessments – what has worked and
what are the gaps (based on stocktaking assessment
done prior to the meeting)
– Discuss and agree on 3-4 most common areas of
progress
– Identify the 3 – 4 major issues /constraints that must
be addressed to improve implementation over the
coming years
– Prepare to report on areas of progress and major
constraints
Process
• Country teams will meet in regional groups after lunch
• NO FORMAL PRESENTATIONS
• Frank, open dialogue
– share experiences on how issues have been dealt with to
date
– help outline and guide next steps on what might be done
to address these issues or challenges
• These are not sessions to judge
– It’s a RARE opportunity to have collegial problem solving
discussions -- starting with a good understanding of the
problems you are facing

• Agreement on 3-4 most common areas of
progress across the countries represented in
regional group
• Agreement on 3-4 PRIORITY issues that MUST
be addressed (by countries/ RECs / donors or
all) to move forward

• What are you doing to improve the functioning of Ag markets?
• How do you engage private sector entities in CAADP NAIP
implementation?
• What’s the status of food security and provision of safety nets in
your country?
• Are you managing natural resources for sustainable agriculture
production differently since CAADP NAIP began?
• How are you involving women small holders ?
• What are the priority policy and institutional reforms needed?
• What specific emerging /cross-cutting areas should be addressed by
higher level CAADP coordination?
