0.75 Degrees Celsius = 1.8 Degrees Fahrenheit
In the U.S. most of this temperature increase was
confined to urban areas; matched rural areas
showed almost no increase
The “Climategate” affair has cast doubt on the
validity of this temperature record
“Climategate”: A Betrayal of Trust
• Thousands of internal e-mails and documents from the
UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC)
advisory center… the Climatic Research Unit (CRU) of East
Anglia University U.K. were leaked or hacked late
November 2009 to a Russian web-site
• The Russian Institute for Economic Analysis claimed that
Russian temperature data had been tampered with to
assert far more warming than had actually occurred
• Independent reviewers have since found a general
pattern of shutting out dissenters, manipulating climate
data to fit the IPCC global warming story line, and illegal
dodging by a small, politically connected group of climate
scientists of U.K. Freedom Of Information Act requests

lack of warming at the moment (October 2009) and it is a
travesty that we can’t”; “The fact that we can not account
for what is happening in the climate system makes any

Research…lowered temperature blip for mid-20th century

More IPCC Shame
• Dr. Benjamin Santer (Lawrence Livermore National
Laboratory): lead author of Chapter 8 of the 1995 IPCC
Working group report now admits (January 2010) that he
alone arbitrarily deleted the five original statements by the
scientists in their finalized draft of that chapter which had
stated that “there is no discernable human effect on global
temperatures”, reflecting his, non-peer-reviewed opinion,
and upholding the IPCC man-made climate change premise
• The IPCC was created to establish mankind’s influence on
climate; not to be an independent climate research entity
• “Climategate” scientists appear to have let personal belief
and advocacy to taint their impartial scientific analysis

Prediction…Now Recanted
• The latest IPCC report (2007) claimed that the world’s
glaciers were melting so fast that those in the Himalayas
could vanish by 2035
• January 2010: IPCC admits that the claim was based on a
single, non-peer reviewed, popular science magazine (New
Scientist) article, then quoted by the World Wildlife Fund
(WWF), and not expert reviewed by the IPCC
• The author of the article now admits his claim was made to
support the politically correct view point of the IPCC
• The activist group Greenpeace is now revealed as the
source for non-peer reviewed claims of coral reef and
Amazon degradation, in that same IPCC report

Impartiality
• Railroad engineer, Rajendra Pachauri, has been the
chairman of the IPCC since 2002
• During January 2010, reports from Britain and India
revealed his ties to a number of energy companies,
including The Energy Research Institute (TERI), the Oil and
Natural Gas Commission , Indian Oil Corporation, the
National Thermal Power Corporation, and the TATA Group,
some of which received funding based on these IPCC
climate claims
• India has announced plans to leave the IPCC and form its
own climate panel

• A much hyped, follow-on to the Kyoto Protocol of 1997,
which covered the period of 2008-2012, sponsored by Club
of Madrid, the EU Commission, and the UN, amongst
others…attended by thousands of activists and politicians
• The original 1997 Kyoto treaty was signed by President
Clinton, but he never submitted it to the senate for
ratification
• The “Copenhagen Accord” calls for no 2020, nor 2050
emission reductions and has attracted few signatories
• Political squabbling over wealth re-distribution and oneworld governance replaced concerns over global climate

Global Temperature Record
• There has been an apparent period of global warming at
an average baseline trend of 0.7 C per hundred years since
the end of the “Little Ice Age” (A.D. 1300-1850), although
the absolute validity of the surface temperature record is
now questionable because of NOAA and GISS
“adjustments”, and “loss” of original temperature data
• Why did “Little Ice Age” end around 1850, well before the
beginning of the modern industrial age and major increases
in carbon dioxide emissions beginning in the late 1940s?
• Why did the “Medieval Warm Period” occur during A.D.
900-1300 and produce global temperatures several degrees
warmer than now, even though carbon dioxide levels were
very much lower than now?

Surface Temperature Record Problems
• Surface temperature data accuracy susceptible to faulty placement of
recording instruments, urban heat island bias, in addition to
investigator “warming” bias at CRU, NASA/GISS, and NOAA
• By 1990 NOAA dropped 4, 550 of its 6,000 global thermometers,
preferentially retaining those in warmer urban sites, retaining only
one above the Arctic Circle
• Only 3 % of US temperature sites(865 out of 1,221) meet the Class 1
quality rating of the National Administration’s National Weather
Service for a technically correct location
• Land surface stations can only monitor 30% of the earth; the rest of
the earth is water covered
• A large number of temperature monitoring sites in Russia have been
abandoned; most were in cold areas; their loss produced a warming
bias in the world data

WHAT IS THE GREENHOUSE HYPOTHESIS?
• A popularized, fictional allusion to a garden
greenhouse although the Earth does not have a
glass house roof and walls, but is open to outer
space
• The Greenhouse Hypothesis supposes that the
mixture of atmospheric gases hinders the loss of
heat energy from the Earth out into space; that a
warmer Earth evaporates more water vapor to the
atmosphere, causing more heat trapping,
amplifying the small, non-linear effect of carbon
dioxide in a positive feedback cycle

of the modeler
• The IPCC issues only make believe, “what if”
scenarios and projections, which the media and
politicians falsely portray as predictions
When Does Weather Become

In 1964, Edward Lorenz, American
meteorologist, mathematician, and early
computer analyst published his paper
“Does a Climate Exist?”
Lorenz was also the founder of “chaos theory”
and considered the mathematical possibility
that there is no long term average weather;
therefore there is no stable climate; therefore
weather/climate is always changing on some
time scale
Climate Computers Can Not
Predict the Climate
•Claims of climate catastrophes, disease spread , species
extinction and the like in 2020, 2050, or 2100 are computer
fictions generated by biased, incomplete understanding,
and/or faulty assumptions
•The absence of a full understanding of all the climatic
factors, their interactions, their precise initial measurements,
and their non-linear relationships dooms long term climate
forecasting
•The complex interaction of low level clouds, high level clouds, ice
particles, cosmic ray particles, aerosol and soot particles, and
humidity changes with altitude are poorly understood
•The past seven years of global cooling were not predicted by
the UN climate models, in much the same way that the most
sophisticated financial computers failed to predict the
financial collapse of the past several years

groups have now performed model integrations using similar
radiative forcings. This allows ensembles of model results to be

In sum, a strategy must recognise what is possible. In climate
research and modelling, we should recognise that we are dealing
with a coupled non-linear chaotic system, and therefore that the
long-term prediction of future climate states is not possible

century warming was linked to human industrial activities
and unprecedented. The “hockey stick” graph had
eliminated the Medieval Warm Period (A.D. 900-1300),
when temperatures were as warm or warmer than now,
and CO2 levels much lower. The graph was shown to be a
statistical artifact by independent researchers.

Energy Sources
• Windmills and solar energy sources provide about 1-2% of
our energy needs ,gobble up huge tracts of land and water
resources, and disrupt native habitat…one 1,000MW coal
plant replacement takes 600 sq. miles of wind turbines, and
require backup, inefficiently operated electric power plants
– In Spain, windmill “green jobs” cost 9 jobs for every 4
new ones at a cost of $750,000 per green job, but
collapsed following the withdrawal of lavish
governmental subsidies
• Fossil fuels “the original biofuels” coal, oil, and gas provide
about 85% of our energy
• Nuclear power provides about 8-9%
• Hydroelectric plants supply about 3%

Wind And Solar As Alternate Power?
• Less than 1% of U.S. electricity is generated from petroleum
• Petroleum represents less than 40% of total U.S. energy use
• Two thirds of imported oil comes from Canada and Mexico,
not the Middle East
• China and other foreign countries have supplied 65% of
U.S. wind installations; 80% of 2 billion of your tax dollars
• China is the world manufacturing center for solar power
panels, a technology producing a variety of toxins
• China is the source for rare earth metal ores used in electric
car batteries and electric motors
• Britain reported that this winter, wind power failed to
deliver during the cold and snowy conditions…lack of wind
Green Energy ?– Clean Energy?
• If it is “green”, is it supported in practice by environmental
groups?
– Carbon free nuclear power is opposed by the Sierra club
• France generates 80-85% of its electric power by nuclear
plants
• China is adding 100 new nuclear plants over the next 20
years
– Carbon free hydropower, wind power, and desert solar farms
are opposed by environmentalists
• Green energy/clean energy is by political mandate, needlessly
more expensive energy
• Discouraging domestic oil and coal energy development
reduces domestic energy security and results in more
importation of foreign oil
• Ethanol from corn has increased food prices, reduced car
mileage, and increased pollution

Is The U.S. An Out Of Line Polluter?
• In 2008, the U.S. accounted for 30% of the world’s
gross domestic product
• In 2008, the U.S. accounted for 19% of global
greenhouse gas emissions
• Between 1980 and 2008, the EPA reported double
digit declines in the six major pollutants ( carbon
monoxide, ground level ozone, lead, nitrogen
dioxide, particulate matter, and sulfur dioxide) even
as fossil fuel use increased
• The U.S. manages to produce more goods and
simultaneously reduce levels of pollution

Carbon Footprint?
• By one estimate, it takes 1,767,250,000,000 metric
tons of carbon dioxide to raise global temperature 1
degree Centigrade.
• If you stopped driving your car for one year, you
would save about 5.5 metric tons of carbon dioxide.
Divide 5.5 by the above number, and that is your
contribution to global warming reduction.
• If the entire state of Virginia were to completely shut
down all fossil fuel consumption, it would take only 50
days for that saving to be replaced by global growth.

Both Are Disguised TAX BILLS
•In spite of the attempt to camouflage the fact with changing
terminology, both of these bills are governmentally imposed,
arbitrary TAX BILLS on energy, dispensing tax payer monies to
politically favored industries and lobbying groups
•Even if carbon dioxide emissions are impacted by these bills,
temperature change by 2050 would be less than one tenth of
a degree
•The true cost to the consumers of this energy tax has been
estimated at $1,500 to $3,500 per family, per year with no
measurable benefit to the global climate
Why Not A Carbon Tax?
• A straight forward carbon tax could be implemented by the
government
• Wall Street banks, investment banks, and commodity
trading investors do not support a tax because they would
be left out of the money loop, being deprived of the huge
trading profits that they wish to skim off from a multitrillion dollar “cap and trade” marketplace…subprime
morgtage/Bernard Madoff redux?
• Carbon trading credits (cap and trade) represent a uniquely
fictitious commodity having no physical existence; a form
of fiat money and ripe for fraud as already demonstrated in
Europe
Taxpayer Money Tree
• Follow the money…approximately $79 BILLION has
been spent by the U.S. government funding global
warming/“climate change” projects since
1989…based on the predetermined premise that
manmade CO2 is a climate change problem
requiring immediate solution
• “Everyone” has learned how to make a buck from
the “incurable problem” of natural climate
change---the invented disaster that keeps on
giving university grant money, favored federal
subsidies, Wall Street profits, media scare stories,
activist funding, and political control
• Federal make-work, giveaways of taxpayer money
to a chosen scientific/industrial complex is akin to
the make-work WPA programs of the 1930s

• Andrew Revkin, NY Times environmental writer: “single
most substantive thing an American could do is not turning
off a light or driving a Prius, it’s having fewer children”
• John Holdren, President Obama’s Federal science advisor:
“families contribute to general social deterioration by
overproducing children; a planetary regime might be given
responsibility for determining optimum population for the
world”
• Victoria University (Australia): Brenda and Robert Vale ,
sustainable living specialists, publish: “Time To Eat The
Dog”; calculating that feeding a dog for a year produces
more carbon emissions than a SUV; feeding a cat produces
the emissions of a VW golf
What To Do ?
• The current state of climate understanding
does not justify a radical restructuring of the
industrialized world
• The current state of impartial scientific
evidence does not support claims of
impending global climate disasters
• A new era of open and unbiased climate
research, divorced from political and
agenda driven activists, is needed
What Can You Do?
• Educate yourself beyond the biased media; it takes
work
• Find out what your children and grandchildren are
being taught in school; demand unbiased science, not
the politically correct dogma of advocacy groups
• Realize the basic fact of modern life: that control of
energy and its cost is control of your and your families’
lives
• Realize that energy companies will pass onto you any of
their mandated increased costs of energy production
• Voluntary energy conservation is, and has always been,
prudent
• Question the motives of the politicians and special
interest groups and let them know your views

still valid: “The whole aim of practical politics
is to keep the populace alarmed , and hence
clamorous to be led to safety , by menacing it
with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of
them imaginary
