• 150+ juniors in clinic and junior team program
during 2012.
• Over 45 juniors participated in USTA Norcal
sanctioned play in 2012.
10 and Under Tennis
• SCRA leads Mid-peninsula in age 10 and under programming.
• 10 and under team won the Northern California Future Tennis
Champs Invitational…the largest team event for 10 and under
players of the NorCal tennis year!
• SCRA ne of the first two Peninsula clubs to be recognized as an
official USTA “10 and Under Tennis Facility.”
• SCRA is host club for weekly Friday 36 and 60 foot Midpeninsula
interclub play in June and July.
• SCRA hosted Regional Future Champs Invitational team
tournament.
• SCRA hosted area wide USTA 10 and Under USTA Player
Development Camp.

Program Objectives:
• Teach valuable swimming skills & water safety.
• Instill deep love for and interest in swimming.
• Build confidence & sense of accomplishment.

• Year Long Lesson Program.
• Revised user-friendly online sign-up system.
• Ribbons & certificates for program
completion
• Mandatory staff development & ongoing

SCRA Aquatics Lessons Program
• Spring: Group Lessons on Sat & Sun in April & May; 80 Group
Lesson slots. Private Lessons with 88 slots.
• Summer: 10 week-long Class Sessions: Mon-Thu; over 100
students per session in Group & Private classes. Three 3-day
weekend sessions Sat & Sun in June, July, & Aug; Over 40
students per session in Group & Private classes.
• Fall: Private Lesson had 57 slots filled; Group lessons had 99
slots filled.
• Winter: Private Lessons had
47 slots filled; Group Lessons
had 20 slots filled.

SCRA Aquatics: Pre-Competitive
• Pre-Comp Three class levels : A, B, & C
• Classes run in either 8-week
or 4-week sessions
• Small group instruction:
A - Swimmer to coach ratio 6:1
B - Swimmer to coach ratio 8:1
C - Swimmer to coach ratio 10:1 (or less)
• Development - RED Group:
Ages - 11-up, age specific
• Enrollment between 80 - 100

SCRA Activities
Out of the pool and beyond the courts, here is what else has been
going on at SCRA this year:
• Music for Kids: Learning music through singing, dancing,
developing basic musical competence in children 5 years old and
under held each quarter.
• Special Kid parties: Halloween with pumpkin patch, Valentines,
& Spring Peter Cottontail parties.
• SCRA Fun Camp: During the summer Monday-Friday 9am-3pm
with six sessions starting mid June with up to16-18 kids each
week. Designed for children ages 5-9 years old.
• Adult Group Fitness Classes: Yoga(s), Pilates, Tai Chi, Stretch
& Strengthen for Seniors, & water aerobics each week in quarter
sessions. Group sizes range from 7 to 15 individuals for each
class.
SCRA Activities
• Wine Club: Meets quarterly with about 15-20 regular attendees lead by
our own SCRA Member John Haeger. If interested contact Steve Robe
for details.
• Annual 4th of July Party: Approximately 300-400 Members attend
each year with Kids Carnival, BBQ of hotdogs & hamburgers with a
potluck of sides and desserts. Chili Tasting Contest, and swimming
games to end the day. Always a fun time.
• Wine Tasting Day: On a Saturday afternoon in June, area wine makers
come to SCRA setting up under the trees providing samples of their
wines and taking orders. A great way to spend a day at SCRA.
• Food Trucks at SCRA: Provided weekday lunches and for special
events. Hope to continue this summer.
• Special Events (Past & Future): Spring Fling, Summer Family Nights
BBQ showing a movie outdoors on the grass. Possible hockey &
baseball outings (Sharks, Stanford, Giants, or A’s) outings throughout
the year. If interested in attending or need more details any of these
events contact Steve Robe or April Triantis.

SCRA Facilities
The SCRA Facilities Committee has been working on
a Board-approved Play Structure Project, in which a
new play structure will be installed at SCRA.
 Location: Installation of a play structure in NE
corner of picnic area (adjacent to parking lot &
tennis courts).
 Cost: Approximatey $30,000 (three companies
under consideration for installation).
 Remaining Tasks: Final board approval of precise
play structure model, choosing “fall zone”
surface, and fencing (if required).
