State Agricultural Education Profiles
• We invite you to help us either update your developed
profile (that can be previewed here) or develop one
for your state by completing a template you can
request from Savannah Robin or that will be resent on
the listserv. If there are no updates to your profile, we
will leave it as is. But please remember these are a
resource for your teachers and other stakeholders so
it is essential they have the most up to date
information you can provide.
Advocacy
Advocacy Workshop Resources
• If you’re interested in hosting an advocacy workshop
at your state/regional conference please feel free to
contact Savannah Robin regarding workshop
materials and outlines. She can provide resources for
you to use to focus on different elements of advocacy
and can help you find ways to facilitate. Also, the new

use and will provide educational tools to help develop
advocates.
National Teach Ag Campaign
State Teach Ag Results (STAR) Program
• Eleven states were selected to begin the program in
April 2014 (CA, IL, IN, KS, MN, MO, MS, NE, NY, NC,
OR) with another 4 starting in January 2015 (ID, IA,
PA, SD). These states will work collaboratively with
the Teach Ag Campaign over a 2 year period to
develop a sustainable and effective recruitment and
retention model that implements strategies based on
data driven assessments.
National Teach Ag Campaign
AAAE Supply and Demand Study
• The National Teach Ag Campaign will be working with
the national supply and demand team to gather
data. Having this AAAE team will ensure consistency
and reduce data collection inefficiencies and
redundancy.
National Teach Ag Campaign
National Teach Ag Day
• National Teach Ag Day will be held Thursday,
September 25, 2014. CHS, Inc. in Minnesota will host
the live web cast.
National Teach Ag Campaign
Open Positions
• The number of open positions this spring is expected to
be at record numbers. Teacher candidate enrollment
remains relatively stagnant and high numbers of new
and expanding programs will likely mean another year
with hundreds of unfilled positions. For the 2013-14
academic year we had approximately 350 positions
filled with alternative licensure candidates or they
remained vacant.
