The Purposeful Land Administration System • LAS is a tool to serve a purpose.

• No clear purpose, no good working LAS.

• General principles for a LAS: good governance and rule of law • Without meeting these principles, LAS is a dangerous tool.

• A LAS that is not efficient and effective, is a wrongly designed LAS.

• LAS that cannot cope with daily transactions is not a good LAS.

• LAS that cannot serve next 200 years is not a good LAS.

• A good LAS is hardly possible without the private and academic sector, because the LAS-world is divided in enlightened thinkers, innovators and applicants.

• A good LAS should be resistant against old fashioned lawyers and land surveyors, and opportunistic authorities .
