HISTORY
1961
Vilnius 10th Professional Technical School established.
1983
The school moves to new premises and becomes Vilnius 10th
Secondary Professional School.
Two of Vilnius professional schools are merged into one Vilnius
School of Light Industry and Household Services.
On the 1st of July the school is renamed to Vilnius Vocational
Training Centre for Business service specialists.

The motivation of students to learn is decreased by negative opinion
of the society about worker’s profession.

The teachers lack the motivation to improve their foreign language skills.

The teachers of students are reluctant to participate in the life of the Center.

Inactive work with social partners.
•
The financial resources of the Center are not sufficient in order to completely
support the teaching process with quality materials.
•
The possibilities to teach adults are not completely used.
•
The geographical location of the Center in Vilnius city is not convenient to
supply services.

Short-term and long-term migration of youth.
•
Heads of companies are looking for work force from other countries due to the
lack of qualified employees of certain professions.
•
The main part of the teachers are in their 50s.
•
Small salaries of service sector employees will continue to reduce the image
of the profession in the eyes of society.
•
The teaching base of the Center, equipment are of much worse condition than
in production companies.
•
The secondary schools are interested in “keeping” all the students due to the
school financing policies (student’s basket).
Therefore, professional teaching facilities lose their potential students.
