AN OBEDIENT FAITH
Romans 3:28 Therefore we conclude that a man
is justified by faith apart from the deeds of the
law.
Ephesians 2:8 For by grace you have been saved
through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the
gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should
boast.
John 14:15" If you love Me, keep My
commandments.
Matthew 7:21 " Not everyone who says to Me,
'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven,
but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.
Genesis 6:5 Then the LORD saw that the
wickedness of man was great in the earth, and
that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was
only evil continually. 6 And the LORD was sorry
that He had made man on the earth, and He was
grieved in His heart. 7 So the LORD said, "I will
destroy man whom I have created from the face
of the earth, both man and beast, creeping thing
and birds of the air, for I am sorry that I have
made them."
Genesis 6:8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of
the LORD. 9 This is the genealogy of Noah. Noah
was a just man, perfect in his generations. Noah
walked with God. 10 And Noah begot three sons:
Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
Genesis 6:11 The earth also was corrupt before
God, and the earth was filled with violence. 12
So God looked upon the earth, and indeed it was
corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted their way on
the earth. 13 And God said to Noah, "The end of
all flesh has come before Me, for the earth is filled
with violence through them; and behold, I will
destroy them with the earth. 14 " Make yourself
an ark of gopherwood; make rooms in the ark,
and cover it inside and outside with pitch. 15
"And this is how you shall make it: The length of
the ark shall be three hundred cubits, its width
fifty cubits, and its height thirty cubits.
16 "You shall make a window for the ark, and you
shall finish it to a cubit from above; and set the
door of the ark in its side. You shall make it with
lower, second, and third decks. 17 "And behold, I
Myself am bringing floodwaters on the earth, to
destroy from under heaven all flesh in which is
the breath of life; everything that is on the earth
shall die. 18 "But I will establish My covenant
with you; and you shall go into the ark -- you,
your sons, your wife, and your sons' wives with
you.
19 "And of every living thing of all flesh you shall
bring two of every sort into the ark, to keep them
alive with you; they shall be male and female. 20
"Of the birds after their kind, of animals after
their kind, and of every creeping thing of the
earth after its kind, two of every kind will come to
you to keep them alive. 21 "And you shall take
for yourself of all food that is eaten, and you shall
gather it to yourself; and it shall be food for you
and for them." 22 Thus Noah did; according to all
that God commanded him, so he did.
Genesis 12:1 Now the LORD had said to Abram:
"Get out of your country, From your family And
from your father's house, To a land that I will
show you. 2 I will make you a great nation; I will
bless you And make your name great; And you
shall be a blessing. 3 I will bless those who bless
you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in
you all the families of the earth shall be blessed."
Genesis 12:4 So Abram departed as the LORD had
spoken to him, and Lot went with him. And
Abram was seventy-five years old when he
departed from Haran. 5 Then Abram took Sarai
his wife and Lot his brother's son, and all their
possessions that they had gathered, and the
people whom they had acquired in Haran, and
they departed to go to the land of Canaan. So
they came to the land of Canaan.
Exodus 3:11 But Moses said to God, "Who am I
that I should go to Pharaoh, and that I should
bring the children of Israel out of Egypt?" 12 So
He said, "I will certainly be with you. And this
shall be a sign to you that I have sent you: When
you have brought the people out of Egypt, you
shall serve God on this mountain."
13 Then Moses said to God, "Indeed, when I
come to the children of Israel and say to them,
'The God of your fathers has sent me to you,' and
they say to me, 'What is His name?' what shall I
say to them?" 14 And God said to Moses, "I AM
WHO I AM." And He said, "Thus you shall say to
the children of Israel, 'I AM has sent me to you.' "
Exodus 4:1 Then Moses answered and said, "But
suppose they will not believe me or listen to my
voice; suppose they say, 'The LORD has not
appeared to you.' "
Exodus 4:10 Then Moses said to the LORD, "O my
Lord, I am not eloquent, neither before nor since
You have spoken to Your servant; but I am slow
of speech and slow of tongue." 11 So the LORD
said to him, "Who has made man's mouth? Or
who makes the mute, the deaf, the seeing, or the
blind? Have not I, the LORD? 12 "Now therefore,
go, and I will be with your mouth and teach you
what you shall say."
13 But he said, "O my Lord, please send by the
hand of whomever else You may send."
2 Kings 5:9 Then Naaman went with his horses
and chariot, and he stood at the door of Elisha's
house. 10 And Elisha sent a messenger to him,
saying, "Go and wash in the Jordan seven times,
and your flesh shall be restored to you, and you
shall be clean." 11 But Naaman became furious,
and went away and said, "Indeed, I said to
myself, 'He will surely come out to me, and stand
and call on the name of the LORD his God, and
wave his hand over the place, and heal the
leprosy.' 12 "Are not the Abanah and the
Pharpar, the rivers of Damascus, better than all
the waters of Israel? Could I not wash in them
and be clean?" So he turned and went away in a
rage.
13 And his servants came near and spoke to him,
and said, "My father, if the prophet had told you
to do something great, would you not have done
it? How much more then, when he says to you,
'Wash, and be clean'?" 14 So he went down and
dipped seven times in the Jordan, according to
the saying of the man of God; and his flesh was
restored like the flesh of a little child, and he was
clean.
Romans 16:19 For your obedience has become
known to all.
Romans 6:16 Do you not know that to whom you
present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that
one's slaves whom you obey, whether of sin
leading to death, or of obedience leading to
righteousness? 17 But God be thanked that
though you were slaves of sin, yet you obeyed
from the heart that form of doctrine to which you
were delivered. 18 And having been set free from
sin, you became slaves of righteousness.
Philippians 2:12 Therefore, my beloved, as you
have always obeyed, not as in my presence only,
but now much more in my absence, work out your
own salvation with fear and trembling; 13 for it
is God who works in you both to will and to do for
His good pleasure.
Hebrews 5:9 And having been perfected, He
became the author of eternal salvation to all who
obey Him,
James 2:14 What does it profit, my brethren, if
someone says he has faith but does not have
works? Can faith save him?
James 2:15 If a brother or sister is naked and
destitute of daily food, 16 and one of you says to
them, "Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,"
but you do not give them the things which are
needed for the body, what does it profit? 17 Thus
also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is
dead. 18 But someone will say, "You have faith,
and I have works." Show me your faith without
your works, and I will show you my faith by my
works.
19 You believe that there is one God. You do well.
Even the demons believe -- and tremble! 20 But
do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith
without works is dead? 21 Was not Abraham our
father justified by works when he offered Isaac
his son on the altar? 22 Do you see that faith was
working together with his works, and by works
faith was made perfect? 23 And the Scripture
was fulfilled which says, "Abraham believed God,
and it was accounted to him for righteousness."
And he was called the friend of God. 24 You see
then that a man is justified by works, and not by
faith only.
Romans 10:17 So then faith comes by hearing,
and hearing by the word of God.
John 8:24 "Therefore I said to you that you will
die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I am
He, you will die in your sins."
Luke 13:3 "I tell you, no; but unless you repent
you will all likewise perish.
Romans 10:9 that if you confess with your mouth
the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God
has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
1 Peter 3:21 There is also an antitype which now
saves us -- baptism (not the removal of the filth
of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience
toward God), through the resurrection of Jesus
Christ,
Acts 2:38 Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and
let every one of you be baptized in the name of
Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you
shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Acts 2:41 Then those who gladly received his
word were baptized; and that day about three
thousand souls were added to them.
