Where are we headed? 5 8 4th year of transitioning to College & Career Ready Standards in Math and English Language Arts (ELA) Second year of transitioning to new College & Career Ready Standards in Science and History/Government. Kansas just piloted the new Assessment in Math and ELA in Spring of 2014. All 286 School Districts are piloting new teacher/leader evaluation instruments that include student growth in performance on multiple measures. In 2013-14, all school districts were piloting their new evaluation model that met approved guidelines. Schools will continue to work on improving the evaluation process over the next few years. The use of student growth data to INFORM PERSONNEL DECISIONS will not come into play until the 2017-18 school year. We have moved away from annual AYP targets to student growth over time.
