SEVEN THINGS THE LORD HATES
Proverbs 6:16 These six things the LORD hates,
Yes, seven are an abomination to Him: 17 A
proud look, A lying tongue, Hands that shed
innocent blood, 18 A heart that devises wicked
plans, Feet that are swift in running to evil, 19 A
false witness who speaks lies, And one who sows
discord among brethren.
Matthew 15:19 "For out of the heart proceed evil
thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications,
thefts, false witness, blasphemies. 20 "These are
the things which defile a man, but to eat with
unwashed hands does not defile a man."
Matthew 5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart, For
they shall see God.
1 Peter 1:22 Since you have purified your souls in
obeying the truth through the Spirit in sincere
love of the brethren, love one another fervently
with a pure heart,
The first thing God hates is a proud look
2 Timothy 3:1 But know this, that in the last days
perilous times will come: 2 For men will be lovers
of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud,
blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful,
unholy, 3 unloving, unforgiving, slanderers,
without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, 4
traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure
rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of
godliness but denying its power. And from such
people turn away! 6 For of this sort are those
who creep into households and make captives of
gullible women loaded down with sins, led away
by various lusts, 7 always learning and never
able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
1 Timothy 6:3 If anyone teaches otherwise and
does not consent to wholesome words, even the
words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the
doctrine which accords with godliness, 4 he is
proud, knowing nothing, but is obsessed with
disputes and arguments over words, from which
come envy, strife, reviling, evil suspicions, 5
useless wranglings of men of corrupt minds and
destitute of the truth, who suppose that godliness
is a means of gain. From such withdraw yourself.
1 Timothy 6:17 Command those who are rich in
this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in
uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives
us richly all things to enjoy. 18 Let them do good,
that they be rich in good works, ready to give,
willing to share, 19 storing up for themselves a
good foundation for the time to come, that they
may lay hold on eternal life.
James 4:6 "God resists the proud, But gives
grace to the humble."
Isaiah 13:11 "I will punish the world for its evil,
And the wicked for their iniquity; I will halt the
arrogance of the proud, And will lay low the
haughtiness of the terrible.
Proverbs 8:13 The fear of the LORD is to hate
evil; Pride and arrogance and the evil way And
the perverse mouth I hate.
Proverbs 16:18 Pride goes before destruction,
And a haughty spirit before a fall. 19 Better to be
of a humble spirit with the lowly, Than to divide
the spoil with the proud.
Philippians 2:1 Therefore if there is any consolation in
Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the
Spirit, if any affection and mercy, 2 fulfill my joy by being
like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of
one mind. 3 Let nothing be done through selfish ambition
or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others
better than himself. 4 Let each of you look out not only
for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.
5 Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, 6
who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery
to be equal with God, 7 but made Himself of no
reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming
in the likeness of men. 8 And being found in appearance
as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to
the point of death, even the death of the cross. 9
Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him
the name which is above every name,
The second thing God hates is a lying tongue.
Acts 5:1 But a certain man named Ananias, with
Sapphira his wife, sold a possession. 2 And he kept
back part of the proceeds, his wife also being aware
of it, and brought a certain part and laid it at the
apostles' feet. 3 But Peter said, "Ananias, why has
Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and
keep back part of the price of the land for yourself? 4
"While it remained, was it not your own? And after it
was sold, was it not in your own control? Why have
you conceived this thing in your heart? You have not
lied to men but to God." 5 Then Ananias, hearing
these words, fell down and breathed his last. So great
fear came upon all those who heard these things. 6
And the young men arose and wrapped him up,
carried him out, and buried him.
7 Now it was about three hours later when his wife
came in, not knowing what had happened. 8 And
Peter answered her, "Tell me whether you sold the
land for so much?" She said, "Yes, for so much." 9
Then Peter said to her, "How is it that you have
agreed together to test the Spirit of the Lord? Look,
the feet of those who have buried your husband are
at the door, and they will carry you out." 10 Then
immediately she fell down at his feet and breathed
her last. And the young men came in and found her
dead, and carrying her out, buried her by her
husband. 11 So great fear came upon all the church
and upon all who heard these things.
Revelation 21:8 "But the cowardly, unbelieving,
abominable, murderers, sexually immoral,
sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their
part in the lake which burns with fire and
brimstone, which is the second death."
John 8:44 "You are of your father the devil, and
the desires of your father you want to do. He was
a murderer from the beginning, and does not
stand in the truth, because there is no truth in
him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his
own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.
1 Peter 2:1 Therefore, laying aside all malice, all
deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and all evil speaking, 2
as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the
word, that you may grow thereby,
The third thing God hates is hands that shed
innocent blood.
Genesis 4:3 And in the process of time it came to pass
that Cain brought an offering of the fruit of the
ground to the LORD. 4 Abel also brought of the
firstborn of his flock and of their fat. And the LORD
respected Abel and his offering, 5 but He did not
respect Cain and his offering. And Cain was very
angry, and his countenance fell. 6 So the LORD said
to Cain, "Why are you angry? And why has your
countenance fallen? 7 "If you do well, will you not be
accepted? And if you do not do well, sin lies at the
door. And its desire is for you, but you should rule
over it." 8 Now Cain talked with Abel his brother;
and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that
Cain rose up against Abel his brother and killed him.
9 Then the LORD said to Cain, "Where is Abel
your brother?" He said, "I do not know. Am I my
brother's keeper?" 10 And He said, "What have
you done? The voice of your brother's blood cries
out to Me from the ground. 11 "So now you are
cursed from the earth, which has opened its
mouth to receive your brother's blood from your
hand. 12 "When you till the ground, it shall no
longer yield its strength to you. A fugitive and a
vagabond you shall be on the earth."
Acts 7:51 " You stiff-necked and uncircumcised in
heart and ears! You always resist the Holy Spirit; as
your fathers did, so do you. 52 "Which of the
prophets did your fathers not persecute? And they
killed those who foretold the coming of the Just One,
of whom you now have become the betrayers and
murderers, 53 "who have received the law by the
direction of angels and have not kept it." 54 When
they heard these things they were cut to the heart,
and they gnashed at him with their teeth. 55 But he,
being full of the Holy Spirit, gazed into heaven and
saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right
hand of God, 56 and said, "Look! I see the heavens
opened and the Son of Man standing at the right
hand of God!"
57 Then they cried out with a loud voice, stopped
their ears, and ran at him with one accord; 58
and they cast him out of the city and stoned him.
And the witnesses laid down their clothes at the
feet of a young man named Saul. 59 And they
stoned Stephen as he was calling on God and
saying, "Lord Jesus, receive my spirit." 60 Then
he knelt down and cried out with a loud voice,
"Lord, do not charge them with this sin." And
when he had said this, he fell asleep.
In 54 countries (61 % of the world population)
abortion is legal.
In the other countries it is illegal.
46 million babies are killed each year.
That’s 126,000 abortions every single day.
In the US alone 1,370,000 babies are murder
each year.
The fourth thing that God hates is a heart that
devises wicked plans.
1 Kings 21:4 So Ahab went into his house sullen and
displeased because of the word which Naboth the
Jezreelite had spoken to him; for he had said, "I will not
give you the inheritance of my fathers." And he lay down
on his bed, and turned away his face, and would eat no
food. 5 But Jezebel his wife came to him, and said to him,
"Why is your spirit so sullen that you eat no food?" 6 He
said to her, "Because I spoke to Naboth the Jezreelite,
and said to him, 'Give me your vineyard for money; or
else, if it pleases you, I will give you another vineyard for
it.' And he answered, 'I will not give you my vineyard.' " 7
Then Jezebel his wife said to him, "You now exercise
authority over Israel! Arise, eat food, and let your heart
be cheerful; I will give you the vineyard of Naboth the
Jezreelite."
8 And she wrote letters in Ahab's name, sealed them with
his seal, and sent the letters to the elders and the nobles
who were dwelling in the city with Naboth. 9 She wrote
in the letters, saying, Proclaim a fast, and seat Naboth
with high honor among the people; 10 and seat two men,
scoundrels, before him to bear witness against him,
saying, "You have blasphemed God and the king." Then
take him out, and stone him, that he may die. 11 So the
men of his city, the elders and nobles who were
inhabitants of his city, did as Jezebel had sent to them, as
it was written in the letters which she had sent to them.
The fifth thing that God hates is feet that are
swift in running to evil
2 Kings 5:20 But Gehazi, the servant of Elisha the man of
God, said, "Look, my master has spared Naaman this
Syrian, while not receiving from his hands what he
brought; but as the LORD lives, I will run after him and
take something from him." 21 So Gehazi pursued
Naaman. When Naaman saw him running after him, he
got down from the chariot to meet him, and said, "Is all
well?" 22 And he said, "All is well. My master has sent
me, saying, 'Indeed, just now two young men of the sons
of the prophets have come to me from the mountains of
Ephraim. Please give them a talent of silver and two
changes of garments.' " 23 So Naaman said, "Please, take
two talents." And he urged him, and bound two talents of
silver in two bags, with two changes of garments, and
handed them to two of his servants; and they carried
them on ahead of him.
24 When he came to the citadel, he took them from their
hand, and stored them away in the house; then he let the
men go, and they departed. 25 Now he went in and stood
before his master. Elisha said to him, "Where did you go,
Gehazi?" And he said, "Your servant did not go
anywhere." 26 Then he said to him, "Did not my heart go
with you when the man turned back from his chariot to
meet you? Is it time to receive money and to receive
clothing, olive groves and vineyards, sheep and oxen,
male and female servants? 27 "Therefore the leprosy of
Naaman shall cling to you and your descendants forever."
And he went out from his presence leprous, as white as
snow.
Acts 13:6 Now when they had gone through the island to
Paphos, they found a certain sorcerer, a false prophet, a
Jew whose name was Bar-Jesus, 7 who was with the
proconsul, Sergius Paulus, an intelligent man. This man
called for Barnabas and Saul and sought to hear the word
of God. 8 But Elymas the sorcerer (for so his name is
translated) withstood them, seeking to turn the proconsul
away from the faith. 9 Then Saul, who also is called Paul,
filled with the Holy Spirit, looked intently at him 10 and
said, "O full of all deceit and all fraud, you son of the devil,
you enemy of all righteousness, will you not cease
perverting the straight ways of the Lord? 11 "And now,
indeed, the hand of the Lord is upon you, and you shall be
blind, not seeing the sun for a time." And immediately a
dark mist fell on him, and he went around seeking
someone to lead him by the hand.
1 Timothy 6:11 pursue righteousness, godliness,
faith, love, patience, gentleness. 12 Fight the
good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to
which you were also called and have confessed
the good confession in the presence of many
witnesses. 13 I urge you in the sight of God who
gives life to all things, and before Christ Jesus
who witnessed the good confession before
Pontius Pilate, 14 that you keep this
commandment without spot, blameless until our
Lord Jesus Christ's appearing
The sixth thing God hates is a false witness who
speaks lies
Proverbs 19:5 A false witness will not go
unpunished, And he who speaks lies will not
escape.
Mark 14:55 Now the chief priests and all the
council sought testimony against Jesus to put
Him to death, but found none. 56 For many bore
false witness against Him, but their testimonies
did not agree. 57 Then some rose up and bore
false witness against Him, saying, 58 "We heard
Him say, 'I will destroy this temple made with
hands, and within three days I will build another
made without hands.' " 59 But not even then did
their testimony agree.
Acts 6:11 Then they secretly induced men to say,
"We have heard him speak blasphemous words
against Moses and God." 12 And they stirred up
the people, the elders, and the scribes; and they
came upon him, seized him, and brought him to
the council. 13 They also set up false witnesses
who said, "This man does not cease to speak
blasphemous words against this holy place and
the law; 14 "for we have heard him say that this
Jesus of Nazareth will destroy this place and
change the customs which Moses delivered to
us."
The seventh thing God hates is one who sows
discord among the brethren
Ephesians 5:6 Let no one deceive you with empty
words, for because of these things the wrath of
God comes upon the sons of disobedience. 7
Therefore do not be partakers with them.
Colossians 2:8 Beware lest anyone cheat you
through philosophy and empty deceit, according
to the tradition of men, according to the basic
principles of the world, and not according to
Christ.
1 Timothy 6:20 O Timothy! Guard what was
committed to your trust, avoiding the profane
and idle babblings and contradictions of what is
falsely called knowledge -- 21 by professing it
some have strayed concerning the faith.
Romans 16:17 Now I urge you, brethren, note
those who cause divisions and offenses, contrary
to the doctrine which you learned, and avoid
them. 18 For those who are such do not serve
our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly, and by
smooth words and flattering speech deceive the
hearts of the simple.
Titus 3:10 Reject a divisive man after the first
and second admonition, 11 knowing that such a
person is warped and sinning, being selfcondemned.
John 17:20 " I do not pray for these alone, but
also for those who will believe in Me through
their word; 21 "that they all may be one, as You,
Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also
may be one in Us, that the world may believe that
You sent Me.
1 Corinthians 1:10 Now I plead with you,
brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,
that you all speak the same thing, and that there
be no divisions among you, but that you be
perfectly joined together in the same mind and in
the same judgment. 11 For it has been declared
to me concerning you, my brethren, by those of
Chloe's household, that there are contentions
among you. 12 Now I say this, that each of you
says, "I am of Paul," or "I am of Apollos," or "I am
of Cephas," or "I am of Christ." 13 Is Christ
divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you
baptized in the name of Paul?
Proverbs 6:20 My son, keep your father's
command, And do not forsake the law of your
mother. 21 Bind them continually upon your
heart; Tie them around your neck. 22 When you
roam, they will lead you; When you sleep, they
will keep you; And when you awake, they will
speak with you.
